Adelmo Guidarelli

Adelmo Guidarelli (Don Pasquale) is a GRAMMY award winning soloist, known for having a voice that is “both deep and powerful” that cuts easily through the orchestra “with a pleasing timbre.” Last season, Mr. Guidarelli performed the role of Leporello in Don Giovanni with Geneva Light Opera and Salt Marsh Opera, performed in his one man show, Operation Opera with The National Opera Center NYC, performed Sharpless with Madama Butterfly with Pensacola Opera, Bartolo in Le nozze di Figaro with Opera Tampa, Morales/Zuniga in Carmen with Opera in Williamsburg, Don Magnifico in La Cenerentola with Opera Las Vegas, and Sulpice in La fille du Regiment with the Wendy Taucher Dance Opera Theater. Mr. Guidarelli was also featured in two SONY Play Station commercials.

Other engagements include Benoit/Alcindoro in La bohème with Salt Marsh Opera, Sacristan in Tosca with New Jersey Festival Orchestra, 2nd Priest in Die Zauberflöte with Opera in Williamsburg, and Dulcamara in L’elisir d’amore with Opera Theatre of Connecticut and Opera Las Vegas. He will also perform Operation Opera in Orlando, appear as a soloist with the St. Johns Lattingtown Church and with Bravo Alliance, and join the Rhodes International Music Festival in Greece.

In recent seasons, Mr. Guidarelli performed as Dick Deadeye in Gilbert & Sullivan’s H.M.S. Pinafore, Alidoro in La Cenerentola and the Warden in Jake Heggie’s Dead Man Walking with Shreveport Opera and played the role of Don Magnifico in Rossini’s La Cenerentola with Bob Jones University. Adelmo co-produced a cast album with composer Stephen Melillo of Melillo’s work “Son of the Storm” on which Adelmo took on the role of Victor Frankenstein and joined Central City Opera for the roles of Dr. Grenvil in La traviata and the Inkeeper/Governor in Mitch Leigh’s Man of la Mancha for their summer festival. In addition, Mr. Guidarelli performed Sacristan in Tosca with The Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra, Martino in L’Occasione fa il Ladro with Little Opera Theatre of New York, sung as a soloist at the Sanivel Music Festival with Opera Theatre of Connecticut and took on the title role in Gianni Schicchi and Don Pasquale for Salt Marsh Opera.

In addition to opera, Mr. Guidarelli has hosted a TV show called “Voices Among Us,” won the 2011 MAC Award for “Best Comedy Performer” for his opera comedy show Operation Opera, was invited by Ryan Seacrest to perform Mozart’s Non più andrai on his E! Channel series was heard on a national commercial for Lidia’s Italian Gourmet Kitchen and is a featured soloist on a German Children’s CD called Der Kleine Tanzbar Schubidu. His debut solo album titled “treasured Songs of Italy & Germany” spawned an IAIRA certified International #1 hit for his dual language version of “Funiculi, Funicula” and in 2015 his one man show, Operation Opera, made its symphonic debut with The Garden State Philharmonic. Mr. Guidarelli has been the recipient of career grants from The Schuyler Foundation for Career Bridges, The Amadeus Fund, The Bloomfield Chapter of UICO, The New Jersey Alliance for Performing Artists, The Columbians, The Caruso International Voice Competition and from Richard and Donna Esteves.
