Bonita Bunt

Stage Director, Soprano, and Stage Manager, Bonita Bunt is a recent graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Notable roles include Tytania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Zerbinetta in Ariadne auf Naxos, Le Rossignol in L’Enfant et les sortilèges, Edith in Pirates of Penzance, and Pernilla in Dan Shore’s The Beautiful Bridegroom. On the other side of the stage, Dr. Bunt has served as director, assistant director, and stage manager for opera companies, festivals, and workshops, and has directed operas, scenes, and plays at colleges and festivals. Directing credits include Hansel and Gretel, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Noah’s Flood for Opera Las Vegas, A Grand Night for Singing, Amahl and the Night Visitors and Cavalleria Rusticana/Pagliacci, for Voccalis Repertory, Beauty and the Beast for Red River Lyric Opera, and Hamlet for UNLV, sung to her own libretto. Most recently she served as assistant director for Opera Las Vegas’ 27 by Ricky Ian Gordon and Vegas City Opera’s Gianni Schicchi, both collaborations with VegasTheatre Company, and was one of the cast members of Opera Uncorked.
