Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, soprano Sheronda McKee has sung in the United States and Europe. In 2014, she performed the title role in Puccini’s Suor Angelica for the International Lyric Academy during the Tuscia Opera Festival. Among recent roles are the Countess, Le Nozze di Figaro, Ariadne/Prima Donna, Ariadne auf Naxos, Apollonia, La Canterina, Nella and La Ciesca, Gianni Schicchi, and Romilda, Serse. She has been a featured soloist in Handel’s Messiah as well as Mozart’s Requiem. She has sung in Viterbo and Tarquinia, Italy, with the International Lyric Academy and in Graz with the American Institute of Musical Studies. Her awards include the Pasadena Opera Guild Scholarship, the Encouragement Award from Metropolitan Opera National Council, and First Place from the National Association of Teachers of Singing.
