Travis Lewis

Bass-Baritone Travis Lewis, a native of Las Vegas, NV, is acclaimed for his powerful sonorous tone and elegant, stylish delivery of music and text.

Mr. Lewis has sung with many regional opera companies including Tulsa Opera, Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Des Moines Metro Opera, Springfield Regional Opera, Southwest Opera, Atlanta Opera, and Minnesota Opera in a diverse variety of roles such as Escamillo, Scarpia, Sharpless, Marcello, Gianni Schicchi, Malatesta, Belcore, Papageno, Leporello, Guglielmo, and Figaro.

Equally at home in concert repertoire he has been heard as the Baritone Soloist in Haydn’s Creation with the Kansas City Symphony, the Verdi Requiem with the American West Symphony, Dubois’ Seven Last Words, Faure Requiem, Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem, and many performances of Handel’s Messiah.

His most recent performance with Opera Las Vegas was as the team manager Dutch in the West Coast premiere of Sasha Matson’s Cooperstown, having also appeared in OLV’s Rigoletto (Marullo) and Britten’s Noye’s Fludde (Noah). Travis will be portraying the Commentator in Derrick Wang’s Scalia/Ginsberg for the company in March.
