Audrey Chait is a director, writer, and producer of opera and theater. Previously with Opera Las Vegas, she directed La cenerentola. In the 2019-2020 season, Ms. Chait also directs The Bartered Bride for CCM, La fille du regiment for Winter Opera St. Louis, and the world premiere of Marie Begins for Westminster Choir College. Her production of L’elisir d’amore for Winter Opera St. Louis was nominated for a St. Louis Theater Circle Award for Best Opera. Ms. Chait lives in Cincinnati, where she is on the faculty of Northern Kentucky University. Other recent credits include Dinner at Eight and the Bach St. John Passion for University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, Scalia/Ginsburg with Opera North, Magic Flute Outreach Tour with Kentucky Opera, and Back to the Zoo with Cincinnati Opera/Cincinnati Zoo. Ms. Chait’s assistant director credits include the Glimmerglass Festival, Santa Fe Opera and Carnegie Hall. Ms. Chait holds a BA in Literary Arts from Brown University, and is a recent recipient of the JoElyn Wakefield-Wright Stage Director Fellowship.
