Soprano Isabella Ivy, a former Opera Las Vegas Young Artist (2013-2014), is now a Resident Artist at Opera San Jose, CA, where she debuted as Gilda in Rigoletto. She also performed Elvira in L’italiana in Algeri, Lillia Herriton in the world premiere of Where Angels Fear to Tread by Mark Weiser, and Königin der Nacht in Die Zauberflöte. On tap for 2015-2016 are Stella in A Streetcar Named Desire, Micaëla in Carmen, and the Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro. Ivy earned a Bachelors degree cum laude in Music Performance from UNLV. She was a semi-finalist for the Houston Grand Opera Competition and semi-finalist at the first National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) National Student Auditions. She took third place at the Metropolitan Opera competition in the Colorado/ Wyoming region in 2013.
